Brodner understands balance, government

I am supporting Bonnie Brodner for school committee because I believe that she is the best candidate to continue the good work that she and the school committee has begun. In all of my interactions with Bonnie she has shown not only compassion and understanding for the children, faculty and staff who are our school community, but also a knowledge of the nuts and bolts of how to make it run as smoothly and fairly as possible. At the core of her work is this question, “What is best for Lexington’s students?’ She strives to answer this question by understanding all sides of the issue to minimize unintended consequences. I truly believe that Bonnie cares about what happens in our schools.

Having been a Town Meeting Member since 2005, Bonnie also understands how the municipal and school side of town government must work together. She knows whom, when and where to go to if she has any questions or concerns. Bonnie has worked effectively with folks on the municipal and school side of government to resolve issues and move things along. She also has a strong understanding of the budget process and the relationship of the town and school budget decisions. Bonnie has contributed to the School committee’s fiscal responsibility. While neighboring communities were laying people off, in Lexington we have been able to eliminate fees for full day Kindergarten and elementary instrumental music and have reduced fees for the school bus. The new Estabrook Elementary School is ahead of schedule and under-budget!

I hope you will join me in voting for Bonnie Brodner for school committee on Monday, March 3rd.
