Incumbent has right qualities for the role

Our town has been fortunate to have Bonnie Brodner serving on the Lexington School Committee for the past three years, and is even more fortunate that she is seeking re-election.

I have been friends with Bonnie since our sons, who are now Lexington High School seniors, were in preschool. Bonnie is a careful and empathetic listener, who always seems to ask interesting and useful questions. Through questions and comments, she adds a unique perspective that deepens and broadens any discussion. And Bonnie’s relentlessly positive attitude is a model for us all.

These attributes are especially valuable on the School Committee. Our school department is a place where dedicated professionals collaborate in a complicated system, supported and challenged by parents, in the important mission of educating all of Lexington’s children. The system works best when respect, empathy, and inclusiveness prevail. On the School Committee, Bonnie consistently demonstrates these qualities. It’s an approach that brings out the best in everyone-and that’s why she’s my choice for School Committee.
