Brodner brings the right qualities

I have known and been friends with Bonnie Brodner for more than 14 years and I enthusiastically support her re-election to the School Committee. The qualities I see in her as a friend -- her willingness to listen to all sides, her passion and dedication to equality and justice, and her respectful approach to dealing with issues and conflict are exactly the qualities that I believe have made her an effective School Committee Member.

When she was elected to the School Committee three years ago, she brought her years of experience in Town Meeting and her devotion to Lexington into the work. She has used the time on the School Committee to ask questions and to listen thoughtfully to the residents of Lexington so that she could make decisions based on what is best for the children of Lexington.

She is a team player and an outspoken advocate for students, teachers and staff. She has an incredibly broad range of knowledge, not only about the Lexington Public Schools, but about other school systems in Massachusetts. She understands that maintaining a high quality school system requires that every part of the system must work well together; Bonnie consistently advances policies not of “us” and “them” but of all of us, together. Lexington is indeed lucky to have Bonnie want to continue serving as a champion for the kids of Lexington and I hope you’ll join me in voting for her on Monday, March 3.
